Notes:

  (1)  This six-page document includes a cut half sheet as an insert.  For printing, two sheets of 8½” x 11″ paper, double-sided, are required. See the printing note near the top of the first sheet.

  (2)  Sometimes the Mass of the Sunday is superseded by a Mass in observance of a Feast.  If the Feast is not one of those which the Roman Missal (1962) categorizes as “a feast of the Lord,” then the Mass of the Sunday must be commemorated, alongside the Feast, at the Collect, the Secret, and the Postcommunion.  (For example, in the year 2021, August 15th falls on a Sunday, and the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (which is obligatory on August 15th every year) is not “a feast of the Lord,” and therefore, the Mass of the 12th Sunday after Pentecost is commemorated on that date in that year.  In addition to printing the Propers for the Feast on that Sunday, you can also print this “Addendum” for the commemoration of the applicable Sunday.  Print the “Addendum” double-sided and then cut the sheet down the middle to create two “Addenda” inserts.  Your extra effort will please Jesus, and your congregation will appreciate it, too.  For the full Propers for the Mass of the feast, see the “Propers for Feasts and Commemorations” page.

  (3) In the Extraordinary Form, the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus is observed on the first Sunday in the calendar year, except when the first Sunday falls on January 1st, 6th or 7th, in which event this Feast is observed on January 2nd.

  (4)  Its name notwithstanding, this Mass (In excelso throno…) is not actually offered on the first Sunday after the Epiphany because, in the vetus ordo, the Feast of the Holy Family has been transferred to that Sunday and supersedes this Mass on that day.  However, this Mass is offered on ferial weekdays following the first Sunday after the Epiphany.
